Decorating a Nursery- Nautical Style
We get a lot of requests for names spelled out in Signal Flags. A lot of thought goes into choosing a name for your child. Once you have decided, signal flags spelling out your baby’s or toddler’s name add a great touch to any nautical nursery. Because our banners are personalized you can choose first name, last name or anything that you wish to spell. As your child grows the banner would also look good in a toddler’s room or any room with a nautical decor. Would also make a keepsake when they go off on there own. Because we make them from mainly Kona cotton they should last for a long time.
Below is a few examples of how they would look in a nursery. I chose the Valance, Horizontal and Vertical. Each would work depending on how much space you have. Also as you can see you can mount a curtain rod on the wall and hang a valance.
Nursery Decorating – Signal Flags and Wooden Alphabet Letters
Since so many of our customers order their child’s first or last name with signal flags I came up with the idea of having both the signal flags and also wooden letters spelling whatever name you want. That way anyone that couldn’t read signal flags would also see what they spell out. Although I am featuring a baby’s nursery the concept would work for any room you wanted to decorate nautically. The picture below shows our horizontal banner that spells Noah
You can buy unfinished letters at most craft stores. Here is a link to Hobby Lobby’s Alphabet Letters . By getting them unfinished you can then either paint them or stain them to fit with the decor of your room. Also they are available in different sizes so you will be sure to find a size that fits the room you want to decorate.

Decorating with Navy Signal Flags – Nursery or Child’s room
So many of our customer’s have mentioned to me that they will be hanging our signal flag banners in the nursery or toddler’s rooms to add a nautical touch. Names are the most popular and since signal flag can be for any age IB Designs banners could be used for years even as the room changes. If you are a nautical fan these banners would work great for either boy or girls rooms.
