Signal Flags Spells “I Love You”

If you’re looking for a way to say “I Love You” with nautical flags, you’ll love our new banner! It comes ready to hang, right out of the package, and includes the flags, all the rope, and a brass ring at the top. We think it’s great for nautical weddings and receptions, but you can use it for almost any occasion where you’d like to let someone special know how you feel. Below is a picture of the full banner.

This next picture shows a collage with close-ups of each flag. The yellow flag with the black circle is the letter “I.” The red and white squares make the letter “U.” While there isn’t any heart flag in the maritime code flag alphabet, we here at IB Designs thought it would be nice to have one. So we created one to mean “love.”

Nautical Decorations for Any Room

Whether your home is old or new decorating it with a nautical style can be fun. Since our signal flag banners can spell anything that you like the possibilities are endless. I wanted to share a few examples. I love the picture below and can picture sitting there and looking out upon the water. The signal flag valance spells HOME.

If you don’t have a lot of space then the nautical vertical banner fits in nicely with a nautical or beach decor. As you can see in the picture the wallpaper has a nautical touch to it. Wall decals is another option with sailboats, anchors and nautical knots. The picture spells out RYAN.

Lastly this Horizontal signal flag banner spells out SPRINGTIME.

All our flags are made of high-quality cotton. They are machine washable in cold water and tumble dry low. Some of our flags have steam-a-seam and they suggest that you don’t use a dryer sheet.

All flags are 8in x 8in except the A and the B. They are 8in x 9in
(to the point). Also the casings depend on what you order.

Casing for Horizontal banners are 1 in
Casing for either Vertical or Valance is 1 5/16

Tweaking your Pfaff Grand Quilter- Helpful Tips

We bought our Pfaff Grand Quilter Hobby 1200 close to 2 years ago. Of all the machines that I have had over the years (sewing 40 yrs) this machine is one of the best ones that we have purchased.

We sew with it 5 days a week year-round and with the number of orders we receive it gets hard use. With it being semi-industrial it has certainly been up to the task.

One thing that I have seen in several forums is that it drinks quite a bit of oil. I oil about once a week. I can’t help but wonder if they are using generic or all purpose oil like 3 in 1. After doing some research I bought Dritz Oil since it doesn’t dry and create a residue as other oils do inside the machine. Most sewing and fabric stores carry it. I have used about a 1/4 of a 4 oz bottle in the time that I have had the machine. Works great. Here’s a picture so you know what to look for.

dritz sewing machine oil

Description: Ideal for sewing machines, sergers. Lubricates, cleans and prevents rust. Zoom Spout 4 oz- Telescoping spout for reaching any area in sewing machines or sergers.

The other issue I have heard about is thread breakage. There is a couple of reasons for this. This machine loves quality thread. Superior has a great line of thread for every need. I have used their “So Fine” line but mostly use the MonoPoly Clear for our flags. It is truly invisible and can be tricky at first to thread the machine. Here is a link to reviews on MonoPoly,

superior monopoly thread.

Also Superior recommends 70/10 as far as the needle when using MonoPoly. I bought their Titatium needles and they work really well. Another reason that your thread might break is the tension being too high. In this regard as you learn your machine you will be able to set it just right.

In conclusion the Grand Quilter is like a high performance car. If you take the time to learn all about it you will discover that it will preform well for you.

I expect this machine to last for a good number of years and love it!
